About our Project
Kyaka II Refugee Settlement is home to thousands of families. Every day, we generate waste — plastic bottles, food remains, used clothes, and more. When not managed properly, this waste creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes, spreads diseases, blocks water channels, and damages our soil.
Clean Kyaka II is a community-driven initiative to change this story.

The Clean Kyaka II Initiative was born from the urgent need to address poor waste management in our settlement. We saw how uncontrolled waste was affecting health, the environment, and daily life for families across Kyaka II.
